Ruth 1:6
“Then she arose with her daughters-in-law, that she might return from the country of Moab; for she had heard in the country of Moab how Yahweh had visited his people in giving them bread.”
What does Ruth 1:6 mean?
Naomi has been living in Moab during a severe famine, but now she hears that God has provided food back home in Bethlehem. That news gives her the courage to make the difficult journey back, and she invites her daughters-in-law to come with her. The phrase "visited his people" is a way of saying God showed up and cared for them, turning their desperate situation around. Sometimes all we need to move forward is to hear that things have gotten better somewhere, or that God hasn't abandoned us after all, and that small spark of hope becomes enough to take the first step.
