Romans 9:28
“for He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the LORD will make a short work upon the earth.””
What does Romans 9:28 mean?
God is promising that His plan of salvation and justice will be completed decisively, not drawn out endlessly. Paul is quoting Isaiah to remind us that while God's work might sometimes feel slow or incomplete from our earthpoint of view, He will ultimately bring everything to its conclusion with perfect righteousness and efficiency. This is meant to be comforting: God won't leave His purposes unfinished or let evil have the final word. In seasons when we're tired of waiting or wondering if goodness will ever truly win, this verse assures us that God has already determined the outcome and will bring it to pass.
