Romans 6:14
“For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.”
What does Romans 6:14 mean?
Paul is telling us that we're no longer enslaved to sin's pull on our lives. When we're in relationship with God through grace (his undeserved kindness), we find freedom that rules and guilt alone could never provide. This doesn't mean we can do whatever we want without consequence. Rather, it means that our identity is no longer defined by our failures or by our desperate attempts to earn God's approval through perfect behavior. That shift in foundation, from striving under law to resting in grace, actually gives us the power to turn away from destructive patterns. We're freed not by willpower alone, but by knowing we're loved and accepted already.
