Romans 6:12
“Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.”
What does Romans 6:12 mean?
Paul is reminding us that even though Jesus has freed us from sin's power, we still have a choice about how we live day to day. He's saying: don't treat your physical desires and impulses as if they're the boss of you. Sin wants to run your life like a kingdom, but you have the power to say no. This is especially encouraging for people who feel trapped by habits or temptations. Paul isn't saying perfection is possible or required, but rather that you're not helpless. When you feel pulled toward something destructive, you can recognize that pull and resist it, because Christ has already broken sin's ultimate hold on you. The choice is yours to make, again and again.
