Romans 5:19

For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous.

What does Romans 5:19 mean?

Adam's choice to disobey God brought sin into the world, and that brokenness has touched all humanity ever since, like a crack spreading through glass. But Paul is saying that Jesus, through his complete obedience to God, especially in accepting death on the cross, reversed that trajectory and opened a way for many people to be made right with God. It's not about earning perfection on your own, but about being restored and reconciled through trusting in what Jesus did. This verse offers real hope: the damage isn't permanent, and God's grace is more powerful than the legacy of sin we inherit.
