Romans 3:15
““Their feet are swift to shed blood.”
What does Romans 3:15 mean?
This line comes from Paul's chain of Old Testament quotes showing that all of us, left to our own devices, are prone to harm others. He's painting a picture of human nature at its worst: people who rush headlong into violence without hesitation or restraint. Paul uses these ancient descriptions not to shame any one group, but to remind us that everyone—Jew and gentile alike—has this capacity for cruelty living inside us. The hopeful point he's building toward is that this is precisely why we all need God's grace, which is available equally to everyone through faith in Christ.
