Revelation 22:17
“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” He who hears, let him say, “Come!” He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely.”
What does Revelation 22:17 mean?
At the end of Scripture, John captures an open invitation that echoes throughout all of time. The Spirit and the bride (the church) are calling out together, inviting everyone to come to Jesus, and that call is meant to ripple outward as anyone who hears it joins in the invitation. What's striking is how the verse moves from the formal call to the deeply personal: if you're thirsty, if you're longing for something real and true, you can come. The water of life represents God's refreshing presence and salvation, offered freely to anyone who desires it, with no cost and no exclusions. This is how Revelation ends, not with judgment or closure, but with an open door and a voice saying "come as you are."
