Psalms 86:16
“Turn to me, and have mercy on me! Give your strength to your servant. Save the son of your servant.”
What does Psalms 86:16 mean?
The psalmist is asking God to pay attention to him in his distress, to treat him with compassion, and to transfer His own strength into the psalmist's life so he can endure whatever he's facing. When he calls himself "your servant" and "the son of your servant," he's expressing complete dependence on God, like someone who belongs entirely to God's household and looks to Him as a parent looks after a child. It's a vulnerable prayer that says, "I can't do this alone, and I'm counting on you to turn toward me and help me."
