Psalms 66:4
βAll the earth will worship you, and will sing to you; they will sing to your name.β Selah.β
What does Psalms 66:4 mean?
When the psalmist describes all the earth worshiping and singing to God, he's expressing a vision of universal recognition and praise, not necessarily predicting a future event where literally everyone converts. He's celebrating the kind of God who deserves worship from every corner of creation, and inviting us into that recognition right now. It's an invitation to join something bigger than ourselves, something that feels true even when we're the only ones in our room acknowledging it. The "Selah" at the end is a musical pause, a moment to let that thought settle into your heart before moving forward.
