What does Psalms 148:2 mean?

The psalmist invites the heavenly beings—both God's angels and the cosmic forces under his command—to join in worship. There's something moving about this image of vast spiritual powers united in praise, all recognizing God's greatness. For those of us on earth going through difficult seasons, it's comforting to know that even when we struggle to praise God ourselves, we're joining a chorus that never stops. The angels and all heaven's armies already know what we're learning: that God is worthy of our worship, whether we feel it in the moment or not.
