What does Psalms 107:12 mean?
When people resist God's guidance and insist on doing things their own way, they often find themselves exhausted and overwhelmed. This passage describes how stubbornness and refusal to listen can wear a person down, leaving them depleted and struggling. The "labor" here isn't just physical tiredness, but the soul-crushing weight that comes from carrying burdens alone, from making choices that lead nowhere good. The hardest part is realizing that isolation we create for ourselves, the way pride or fear keeps us from reaching out or turning toward help. This verse doesn't describe God punishing people cruelly, but rather the natural consequences of our own resistance.
