Numbers 16:6
“Do this: take censers, Korah, and all his company;”
What does Numbers 16:6 mean?
Moses is addressing Korah, who has challenged his leadership, and giving him a chance to prove whether God has truly chosen Moses or whether Korah's claim to authority is valid. He's telling Korah and his followers to each take a censer (a vessel used to burn incense) and bring them before the Lord the next day, which will be a test to show whose offering God accepts. It's a moment where Moses, rather than simply crushing the rebellion, invites the rebels to put their accusations to the test through a direct encounter with God. What follows is one of the most dramatic consequences in Scripture, showing both how seriously God takes the appointed leadership of His community and how dangerous it is to reject His chosen leaders out of pride or ambition.
