What does Nehemiah 4:21 mean?

During the rebuilding of Jerusalem's walls, the community faced real danger from hostile neighbors, so they had to work and stand guard at the same time. This verse shows people literally working all day long, from sunrise to sunset, with half of them armed and watching for threats while the other half built. It's a picture of determination under pressure: they didn't let fear stop them, but they also didn't ignore the real risks around them. There's something deeply human here about moving forward through difficulty while staying alert and protecting what matters to you.
