Matthew 19:26
“Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.””
What does Matthew 19:26 mean?
Jesus spoke these words after telling a rich young man that it's harder for a wealthy person to enter God's kingdom than for a camel to pass through a needle's eye. His disciples heard this and were shocked, asking "Then who can be saved?" This verse is Jesus's answer: what we cannot accomplish on our own strength, God can do. This doesn't mean God makes everything happen the way we want it to, but rather that God isn't limited by our human constraints, fears, or failures. When you're facing something that feels impossible, whether it's breaking a harmful pattern, finding forgiveness, or trusting after betrayal, this verse invites you to remember that transformation isn't ultimately your burden to carry alone. It's an encouragement that reaches into the hardest seasons, reminding us that our limitations aren't God's limitations.
