Matthew 18:3

What does Matthew 18:3 mean?
Jesus is inviting us to reconsider what maturity actually means. He's not asking us to become childish or to abandon wisdom, but rather to adopt the openness, trust, and humility that children naturally have. A child doesn't pretend to understand everything, isn't too proud to admit confusion, and accepts help without constant negotiation. In the context of entering God's kingdom, Jesus is saying that our carefully constructed independence and self-sufficiency can actually block us from receiving what God offers. The turning he mentions is a real shift in posture, away from the stance of "I've got this handled" toward one of "I need help and I'm willing to receive it." If you're in a season where life has humbled you or stripped away your confidence in your own solutions, this might feel less like instruction and more like permission to finally rest in dependence on something greater.
