What does Matthew 15:13 mean?
Jesus is responding to his disciples' worry about offended religious leaders by reminding them what ultimately matters. He's saying that anything not rooted in God's purposes, no matter how established it looks right now, won't last. The false teachings and human traditions the Pharisees were defending might seem important and powerful, but they have no real foundation. This is meant to be encouraging rather than harsh. When you're caught between what culture pressures you to do and what God is calling you toward, it can feel like you're going against something huge and permanent. Jesus reminds us that God's truth is what has real staying power, and anything built against it will eventually fall away, even if it seems solid today.
