What does Matthew 15:14 mean?

Jesus is talking about religious leaders who claim to teach others but who have missed the most important truths about God and goodness. When someone guides people based on incomplete understanding or wrong priorities, everyone involved ends up lost, which is what he means by "falling into a pit." He's not saying to argue with them endlessly or try to fix them, but rather to step away and find better guidance yourself. The image of blind leading blind is vivid because it shows how confusion multiplies when the leader doesn't actually see what matters most. If you're feeling uncertain about spiritual direction, this is a reminder that it's wise to look for teachers who demonstrate real understanding, not just confidence or authority.
