What does Matthew 11:5 mean?
When John the Baptist was in prison and sent disciples to ask if Jesus was truly the Messiah, Jesus answered not with claims but with evidence, pointing to what was actually happening around him. He listed the kinds of healing and restoration that the Jewish prophets had promised would come in God's future kingdom: sight for the blind, mobility for the lame, cleansing for those with leprosy, hearing for the deaf, and life itself restored to the dead.
