Matthew 10:25
“It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!”
What does Matthew 10:25 mean?
Jesus is preparing his followers for opposition by reminding them that they shouldn't expect better treatment than he receives. If people have attacked Jesus himself with harsh accusations (calling him Beelzebul, a name for Satan), his disciples will face similar hostility. The point isn't to welcome suffering, but to recognize it as a normal part of following him, not a sign that something has gone wrong. This can be deeply comforting when you're facing criticism or resistance for your faith. Jesus isn't promising an easy path, but he is promising that you're in good company. Whatever difficulty you encounter, your teacher has already walked through it first.
