What does Mark 5:18 mean?
The man who'd just been freed from a lifetime of torment wanted to stay close to Jesus, the one who'd healed him. After being delivered from something so destructive, his first instinct was to cling to his rescuer and follow him everywhere. That makes human sense, and it reveals how desperately he needed reassurance and belonging after being isolated by his illness. Jesus had given him back his life, his mind, and his dignity, so of course he didn't want to let that go.
