What does Mark 10:14 mean?

Jesus' irritation here is worth noticing. His disciples were turning away children, probably thinking they were unimportant or a distraction, but Jesus saw something crucial they'd missed. He's saying that entering God's kingdom isn't about achieving status, proving your worth, or mastering complex rules. It's about having the openness, trust, and lack of pretense that children naturally bring. When Jesus says the kingdom "belongs to such as these," he means people who approach God with humble dependence rather than self-importance. If you've ever felt too broken, too small, or too insignificant to matter to God, this moment was meant to reach across time to you.
