What does Luke 24:14 mean?

Two disciples walked toward Emmaus on the day Jesus rose from the dead, confused and heartbroken by everything that had unfolded. They needed to process the shocking events, the failed hopes, the rumors of resurrection that seemed too strange to believe. So they did what we naturally do in hard times: they talked it through together. Sometimes the most important spiritual work happens in conversation, not in isolation. These disciples didn't have all the answers yet, but by speaking openly with each other about their confusion and grief, they were keeping their hearts engaged with what mattered most. Later in that same journey, Jesus himself joined their conversation and helped them understand everything anew. The talking itself, honest and shared, created space for clarity to eventually come.
