Luke 22:12
βHe will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.ββ
What does Luke 22:12 mean?
When Jesus sent his disciples to prepare for Passover, he gave them these simple instructions about finding a specific house in Jerusalem. The owner had apparently already agreed to let them use his upper room, so the disciples would recognize the place by its size and readiness. Jesus was asking them to handle the practical details: setting the table, arranging cushions, preparing food and wine for what would become their last meal together. There's something comforting in how Jesus didn't leave them confused or scrambling. He pointed them toward what was already prepared and gave them clear work to do. For many of us, especially when we're anxious or uncertain, there's deep peace in knowing where to go and what comes next. This moment also reminds us that spiritual significance often unfolds through ordinary, faithful tasks done in obedience.
