What does Luke 22:13 mean?

When Jesus sent two of his followers to arrange a place for the Passover meal, he gave them specific instructions about where to find it. Everything happened exactly as he'd described, which would have been both reassuring and striking to them. The disciples then did the necessary work of preparation: securing the lamb, unleavening bread, bitter herbs, and wine to observe this ancient festival properly. What's quietly powerful here is that Jesus knew the details of their future before they lived them. For people preparing to share a meal that would become heartbreakingly significant, this small confirmation that things were unfolding as promised may have brought them a measure of calm before the evening's difficult events.
