What does Luke 22:11 mean?
Jesus is sending two of his disciples ahead to prepare for their Passover meal together, and he's giving them exact words to use when they arrive at a stranger's home. The owner of that house, apparently someone who respected Jesus, would recognize "the Teacher" as a reference to him and understand that this was an important request. It's a beautiful moment of quiet trust, where Jesus seems to know that this person will welcome him and his followers without question, offering hospitality to a rabbi and his students during one of Judaism's most sacred meals. This gathering would turn out to be the last meal Jesus shared with his disciples before his crucifixion, which is why the preparation matters so deeply in the Gospel's story.
