Luke 17:24
“for as the lightning, when it flashes out of the one part under the sky, shines to the other part under the sky; so will the Son of Man be in his day.”
What does Luke 17:24 mean?
Jesus is describing how sudden and unavoidable his return will be. Just as lightning splits the sky in a single, brilliant moment and can't be missed by anyone looking up, his coming won't be something you can prepare for at the last minute or hide from. This comparison shows that whenever Jesus returns, it will be unmistakable and visible to all, not a secret or gradual event that catches some people off guard while others are ready. He's reassuring his followers that they don't need to chase after false messiahs or wonder if they've missed something important, because when it happens, everyone will know.
