What does Luke 12:55 mean?
Jesus is pointing out something we all do naturally: we read the signs around us and make predictions. When warm winds blow from the south in that climate, people knew from experience that intense heat would follow, and they were usually right. He's using this everyday observation to make a deeper point about spiritual awareness. If we can read the weather patterns so easily, why do we struggle to recognize what God is doing in our own lives and times? It's a gentle challenge to pay attention to the signs of God's kingdom with the same practical wisdom we use for almost everything else.
