What does Luke 10:4 mean?

Jesus is sending out his followers on a mission with radical instructions to travel light and stay focused. By leaving behind money, extra supplies, and even sandals (which represented preparedness and self-reliance), they're being asked to depend entirely on God's provision and the hospitality of those they meet. The instruction to greet no one on the way isn't about rudeness, but about avoiding the lengthy social courtesies of that time, which could delay their urgent work. It's an invitation to strip away distractions and trust that when you're truly called to something, you don't need to worry about security or comfort along the path.
