Luke 10:3
“Go your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.”
What does Luke 10:3 mean?
Jesus is sending his followers into a difficult world, and he's being honest about it. He compares them to lambs, which are vulnerable and defenseless, going among wolves, which are predators. He's not sugar-coating the reality that following him and sharing his message will mean encountering hostility, rejection, and danger. Yet there's something profound in this honest assessment: Jesus sends them anyway. He doesn't promise safety or comfort, but he does promise his presence and purpose. For many going through hard times, this can be strangely comforting, because it acknowledges that difficulty isn't a sign you're doing something wrong. Sometimes faithfulness looks like being gentle and trusting in a harsh world, and Jesus sees and honors that.
