What does Luke 10:23 mean?
Jesus is speaking to his closest followers about the privilege of witnessing his life and teaching firsthand. He's acknowledging that they're living through something extraordinary, something people throughout history longed to see but never experienced. There's both tenderness and significance in this private moment, as if he's inviting them to recognize the weight of what they're actually part of. For us reading this today, the blessing extends beyond just physical sight. It's about truly perceiving who Jesus is and what his kingdom means, which we're invited into even without being there in person. Jesus seems to be saying that recognizing him and his work is itself a profound gift.
