Luke 1:6
“They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.”
What does Luke 1:6 mean?
Zechariah and Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist, were people whose faith showed in how they lived day to day. The verse isn't saying they were perfect or never made mistakes, but that they genuinely tried to honor God through their choices and kept his laws seriously. In their cultural and religious context, this kind of faithful living was the natural expression of someone who loved God, much like today we might say someone is "devoted" by how they treat others and spend their time. Luke introduces them this way to show us they were trustworthy people, which makes their later role in God's plan feel grounded in something real.
