Joshua 24:14
““Now therefore fear Yahweh, and serve him in sincerity and in truth. Put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, in Egypt; and serve Yahweh.”
What does Joshua 24:14 mean?
Joshua is speaking to the Israelites at the end of his life, calling them to make a final choice about who they will follow. After reminding them of everything God has done for them, he challenges them to stop worshipping the false gods their ancestors relied on before and during slavery in Egypt, and to commit fully to serving the true God instead.
