Joshua 24:13
“I gave you a land whereon you had not labored, and cities which you didn’t build, and you live in them. You eat of vineyards and olive groves which you didn’t plant.’”
What does Joshua 24:13 mean?
God is reminding the Israelites of something humbling and profound: everything they enjoy has been given to them as a gift, not earned through their own effort. They inherited fertile land, established cities, and productive orchards that generations before them had built and cultivated. The point isn't to make them feel guilty, but to awaken gratitude and help them understand that their wellbeing flows from God's generosity, not their own accomplishment.
