“If it seems evil to you to serve Yahweh, choose today whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh.””
What does Joshua 24:15 mean?
Joshua speaks these words at the end of his life, after leading Israel into the promised land, and he's essentially calling the people to make a real choice rather than drift along. He's saying, "Look, serving God isn't something you should do halfway or because you feel pressured, so decide now: are you actually going to follow the Lord, or do you want to pursue other gods like your ancestors did?"
