Joshua 10:7
βSo Joshua went up from Gilgal, he, and the whole army with him, including all the mighty men of valor.β
What does Joshua 10:7 mean?
Joshua was responding to an urgent plea for help from the people of Gibeon, who had made a peace treaty with Israel and were now under attack by a coalition of five kings. Rather than hesitating or sending only part of his forces, Joshua mobilized completely, taking all his troops and strongest warriors with him to honor his commitment and meet the threat head-on. This moment shows what it looks like to act decisively when others are counting on you, especially when circumstances have become dangerous. There's something reassuring about a leader who doesn't calculate the minimum response but instead brings full strength to those in need, and that's the spirit captured here.
