What does John 9:35 mean?
A man born blind had just been healed by Jesus, but the religious authorities rejected both the miracle and the man himself, casting him out of the community. When Jesus learns what has happened, he seeks the man out, showing that he hasn't been abandoned. His question isn't meant to shame or test, but to invite the man into a deeper understanding of who Jesus is, especially after all he's endured. There's real tenderness here. This man has lost his place among people he knew his whole life, and now Jesus appears to restore something even more important than his physical sight. The question offers him a chance to move from simply recognizing Jesus as a healer to understanding him as the one worth believing in completely, even when others reject you for it.
