What does John 6:62 mean?
Jesus is asking his disciples to imagine what they'll witness when he returns to heaven after his resurrection. He's pointing out that if they struggle to accept his teaching about being the "bread of life" that came down from heaven, they'll be even more amazed when they see him ascend back up to his Father. It's both a challenge to their faith and a reassurance that what he's saying is true, because they'll see the evidence with their own eyes. In that moment, they might finally understand that he really did come from God and is returning there.
