John 4:36
βHe who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to eternal life; that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.β
What does John 4:36 mean?
When we work toward spiritual growth, there's a real reward in it, not just someday but now. Jesus is saying that everyone who participates in bringing people closer to God, whether they plant the seeds or see the harvest, gets to experience the joy of that work. It's a beautiful picture of shared gladness, where the person who started the work years ago and the person who finishes it can both celebrate together, knowing their efforts mattered for eternity. The point is that serving God isn't thankless labor, it's work that fills us with meaning and connects us to others in something larger than ourselves.
