“Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know, and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness.”
What does John 3:11 mean?
Jesus is speaking with frustration here, addressing Nicodemus and others who refuse to accept what he and his followers are telling them about God's kingdom. He's saying that he and his disciples aren't inventing theology or guessing about spiritual truth, they're reporting what they've actually experienced and witnessed. The final clause, "you don't receive our witness," acknowledges that despite their honest testimony, people simply aren't ready to believe it. This hits at something painfully real: sometimes the most genuine, heartfelt truth we share gets rejected anyway.
