What does John 18:35 mean?
Pilate is pushing back against Jesus' suggestion that he's done something wrong. By saying "I'm not a Jew," Pilate is essentially claiming he has no stake in Jewish religious law or disputes, so he can't be held responsible for understanding Jesus' alleged offense.
