John 13:11
“For he knew him who would betray him, therefore he said, “You are not all clean.””
What does John 13:11 mean?
Jesus had just washed his disciples' feet as an act of humble service, but he knew that Judas, sitting right there among them, would soon hand him over to be arrested and killed. His words about not all being clean weren't about dirty feet, but about the condition of hearts, about betrayal and broken trust. Even in that intimate moment of washing and teaching, Jesus was aware of the painful truth unfolding around him, yet he still served everyone at the table with the same care.
