John 12:44
“Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me, but in him who sent me.”
What does John 12:44 mean?
Jesus is saying that faith in him isn't ultimately separate from faith in God the Father, but the same thing. When you trust Jesus, you're trusting the God who sent him, because Jesus came to reveal who God is and what God cares about. It's a beautiful way of saying that believing in Jesus and believing in God aren't competing loyalties, but one unified trust. Whether you're drawn to Jesus' compassion, his teaching, or his sacrifice, you're really responding to the heart of God himself.
