“Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going.”
What does John 12:35 mean?
Jesus is speaking urgently about seizing the opportunity while it's still available. He's telling his followers that his time with them is limited, and they need to make the most of it—to follow his teachings and example while they can still learn directly from him. The "light" represents his presence and guidance; the "darkness" is confusion, fear, and being spiritually lost. There's a gentle warning here wrapped in care. If we delay responding to what we know is true, or if we keep walking away from the light we've been given, we risk losing our way entirely.
