John 12:36
“While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light.” Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.”
What does John 12:36 mean?
Jesus is urging his listeners to trust in him while they still have the chance to encounter him directly. The "light" refers to Jesus himself and the truth he brings, and believing in it transforms you into someone who reflects that same light to others. There's an urgency here, not meant to frighten but to awaken us to what matters most. The verse ends with Jesus withdrawing, reminding us that opportunities don't last forever, which makes this invitation all the more precious.
