Elihu is expressing a hard truth here: God doesn't respond to complaints that come from nowhere, prayers that lack real substance or honest engagement. He's suggesting that if we cry out without genuine seeking, without humility, or without actually wanting to change, we shouldn't expect God to lean in and listen. It's less about God being distant and more about the nature of real communication—shallow words don't create real connection. When we come to God with empty noise instead of authentic longing, we miss the relationship that makes prayer powerful in the first place.
