What does Job 35:12 mean?
When people cry out in genuine distress but find no response, it's often not because God is absent or uncaring, but because pride and wrongdoing have built walls that block help from reaching them. This verse captures a hard truth: sometimes our own stubborn choices and the harm we've caused create barriers that even divine compassion can't penetrate, at least not until we're willing to admit we need help. Elihu, who speaks these words to Job, is suggesting that God does respond to the humble and honest, but He won't override the resistance of those too proud to acknowledge their need.
