Job 35:14
“How much less when you say you don’t see him. The cause is before him, and you wait for him!”
What does Job 35:14 mean?
Elihu is challenging Job's complaint that God seems distant and indifferent to his suffering. He's saying that even if Job feels like God isn't watching or listening, God absolutely sees what's happening. The situation is laid out before God's eyes, fully visible and known, so Job's plea is already heard, even in the silence. There's a gentle rebuke here mixed with encouragement. When we're in pain and feel invisible or abandoned, it's natural to wonder if God even knows what we're going through. But this verse reminds us that God's silence doesn't mean God's absence, and that our cases don't need to be brought to God's attention because he already sees them completely. The waiting itself, as hard as it is, is not waiting in vain.
