What does Job 21:2 mean?
Job is asking his friends to truly hear him out, not just wait for their turn to speak or judge him from a distance. In the midst of his overwhelming suffering, he's recognizing that sometimes the greatest comfort we can offer someone isn't advice or theology, but genuine, patient attention. He's saying that being truly listened to, with care and without interruption, can itself be a form of healing. This speaks to something deeply human: when we're hurting, we need to know that someone sees us and takes our pain seriously.
