What does Jeremiah 9:24 mean?
When we're tempted to boast about our accomplishments, our intelligence, or our status, Jeremiah invites us to redirect that pride toward something far more valuable: knowing God. Real understanding, the prophet suggests, isn't about how much we know—it's about recognizing who God actually is and what matters to him. The heart of this message is that God delights in loving kindness, justice, and righteousness lived out in the real world. When we know God genuinely, we become people who reflect these qualities in how we treat others. So our greatest achievement isn't something we can frame on a wall; it's becoming more loving, more just, and more righteous because we've encountered the character of God himself. Everything else we might take pride in fades when compared to that kind of transformation.
