What does Jeremiah 9:23 mean?

God is gently redirecting where we place our confidence and pride. The prophet lists three things that seem genuinely impressive in any culture—intelligence, strength, and wealth—and says they're not the foundation we should build our identity on. These gifts can fade, fail us in crisis, or become sources of arrogance that isolate us from others and from God. The verse continues with what we *should* glory in: understanding and knowing God. It's an invitation to shift our deepest satisfaction from what we accomplish or possess to a relationship with the one who gives all good things. For anyone feeling inadequate because they're not the smartest or strongest or richest in the room, this is liberating news.
